Grooming is a very important factor for us. We tell our guardians that we expect our dogs to be walking business cards and we have a clause in the contract that if the dog is not well taken care of (grooming is one part of that) that we will take the dog back.
We teach them how to groom and cut the coats themselves and if they groom once a week that is is very easy. They all enjoy it and receive a lot of remarks from other people how beautifull their dog is. That makes them proud and more motivated to keep grooming regularly.
About the training: Here in the netherlands we have the most people per m2 so the dogs must behave else it will really turn into a mess. That does not say there are no problems, of course there are, dog poop everywhere is a major problem, but I guess that is a lack of training of the owner.......

We put them together and held them half a minute, then they stayed like that a few seconds. I let camera shoot automatically so I got at least one good shot. ;)
