after they had her for a few months, she contracted hookworm. They wanted to bring her back to me. Turned out, they didn't have the money to support owning a dog. I did some research and found that once it gets in your yard, you have it forever. So, I told them they had to do the entire treatment before she could be brought to our property. Good luck to you!

one Milbemax pill and they never had worms so far. I live in the netherlands so I don't know if Milbemax is available in US or Canada. Milbemax works also if your dog is already infected.
freezing will kill them off. Never having worms of any type in my girls, this sort of freaked me out. It is good to know they will be erradicated by meds, regular worming protocol and the cold. :+)

don't survive freezing so ahter the winter they will be gone for sure. I prefer to prevent it by giving them de-worming pills. Puppies every 2 weeks, starting at week 2, and mother with them.
