one color to the next in the evolution to parchment or lavender. :+) I had a group of pups that they looked 'mottled' as puppies. You would have called them 'dappled' but this told me they would most definitely be a very light shade of the chocolate gene. For a while, they reminded me of 'old cheese' (you know how cheese gets kind of green mottling as it gets old).

As I said before, a sable must have TWO colors on the hair strand AS A PUPPY. You won't find two colors as they age because coat clipping takes the tips off.

Many times the color change begins around the eyes (looking like a mask!); inside the front legs; middle of the tail; along the edges of the hind legs and edges of the flank. All of this keeps spreading until it is complete around 2 + years old.

      I call it white chocolate others call it lavender or parchment but because those colors don't sound chocolate to clients I use the white chocolate, milk chocolate, chocolate and dark chocolate names.
