to what Carol posted and Teresa's second link (ordered it from Amazon). I like the lips that keep a wiggly pup in place. Very accurate in low and higher ranges. I can use it by myself, even with bigger pups. It also works well for weighing packages, so I never wait in line at the P.O. anymore.

I had the hanging scale when we first started. The pups wiggled out of the sling it came with when they were about 2 weeks old. I never thought of using a bag...great idea!

Does anyone love/hate their puppy scale? What brand do you recommend? What weight capacity do you think is adequate? Thanks in advance!

some mesh bags that you wash delicates (laundry) in. I saw something similar for sale at a breeder supply source and it was around $50! Mine, like yours, was very reasonable.
        • Great idea, Mary! Where do you hang it? (nm)Peggy- Seaspray Australian Labra, Sun Jun 17 11:02

I use the same thing except it is from Dura Whelp's website and it comes with a mesh sling for the puppies. It goes up to 15 lbs. and does 1/10th oz. It is digital and you can also use a shopping bag ... more

I could never get it to '0' and get an accurate reading. I went to a baby scale because it was easier to just lay them in the basket for the first week or so than futz with the sling. I think I will... more
