Hi All
I bought a supposed F1B Goldendoodle puppy in June of 2016. After hearing from my Vet, Trainer, Groomer and pretty much everyone that the dog looked like a Golden Retriever I contacted the Breeder whose immediate response was "he's a flat coat but you can return the dog and I'll refund your money" This was 3 months in and I had bonded with the dog and that was not an option. Then on the advice of my Vet had a DNA test done. Note the breeder stated in the contract that the dogs were F1b whose mother was a Golden Doodle and Father a Poodle. The DNA test came back, Father is a Golden Retriever, Mother a Golden Retriever and Poodle, Dog is 77% GR and 23% Poodle, clearly not the product of the 2 parents she stated. 5 of the dogs are identical to mine and 3 looks like doodles ( I have a 12-year-old F1 Doodle btw) One of the 5 twins human parents and I connected and they had DNA test as well. by a different company. Their dog is 83% GR and 17% Poodle. Our dogs shed profusely and anyone who suffers from dog allergies can't go near them. We want our money back as she has lied to us and breached the contract. Any suggestions?

Mickey, the same thing happened to me. I am interested in knowing who your breeder is. You can contact me at sesteskdh@gmail.com

I don't know about your breeder conflict and how it can be resolved. You do need to have swabs done from both parent dogs, as well as the offspring. But, if you do not have access to the parent dogs, ... more

The only way to confirm parentage would be to do an oral swab on both the dam and sire to collect DNA cells. Vetgen can verify parentage via DNA for you BUT the companies out there do breed... more

Hi there Mickey! I am sorry to hear about your frustrations with your puppy! I am also sad to see what appears to be a frustrated reply to Kendra, who has taken the time out of her busy day to try... more

I wonder why Mickey didn't buy an ALD multigen? Then no worries about shedding. Even FB1's can have problems. Couldn't afford one?

            Is this comment really necessary?

Perhaps not----but was meant honestly---folks, sometimes, try to save money and get what you pay for....always research both breed and breeder prior to buying! Know what you may or may not be... more

YES, I agree with you, Debbie. This is about breed/breeder education. It's part of the subject. People sometimes don't like the answers they get when they ask questions. Goldendoodles.com has all the ... more

Why don't you post a copy of the results from Cornell so we can understand how they came up with their conclusion?

Kendra was respectful to you and kind enough to give you an answer and deserves the same respect from you. And yes, she has been an informed, reputable breeder for many years.
