I used Gunkote from Midway Gloss black. I glass beaded the receiver and polished the barrel. If you are going to try it, buy the K-Phos primer, it makes a difference. I have done 7 firearms with this stuff so far, using my hobby airbrush it takes about an ounce to do a gun... some people use bigger sprayers but this way I waste very little.

    picked this up at a show a few weeks ago in terrible condition. nearly finished cleaning, have a few nicks and cracks to fix in stock.

      Nice job! My old 24 receiver needs refinished, The barrel bluining is nice, but the receiver bluing is poor. The rolled markings and the serial number are very shallow. I've resisted refinishing it... more

        I used the minimum amount of pressure required to remove the paint and I did not spent too much time in the area of the serial numbers.
