Nice job! My old 24 receiver needs refinished, The barrel bluining is nice, but the receiver bluing is poor. The rolled markings and the serial number are very shallow. I've resisted refinishing it because I don't want to loose the serial number. I'm curious if the bead blasting eroded the serial number or markings on your project.

    picked this up at a show a few weeks ago in terrible condition. nearly finished cleaning, have a few nicks and cracks to fix in stock.

        I used the minimum amount of pressure required to remove the paint and I did not spent too much time in the area of the serial numbers.

        I used Gunkote from Midway Gloss black. I glass beaded the receiver and polished the barrel. If you are going to try it, buy the K-Phos primer, it makes a difference. I have done 7 firearms with this ... more
