Savage 24 Discussion Board - 24C suggestions needed before purchase

Lease this WebApp and get rid of the ads.

I will be looking for a 24c to be my end of the world gun. What versions and features should I look for or avoid? I also will be letting my wife use it at the range. Would the 22lr be the best choice for my needs? There are so many .22 variants available. Thanks

What are you expecting at the end of the world? A singleshot-over-singleshot may not be the best weapon of choice unless you can reload really, really fast when the gangs come after your food supply. ... more

I have a .22 magnum over 20 gauge and you can buy adapters to shoot .22lr... just increases your effectiveness a little.
