I will admit Im not 100% sure of what Im doing here. I had a friend show me how to do it. he called them ringlets Basically I cut the rim off a .22wmr shoved a .22lr into it and shoved it into the chamber. Everything was very tight. after I fired it once the .22lr shell had to be pulled out. I let it sit till the next day and fired a few more shots, they ejected without prying most of the time, every now and then I had to pull on the ejector. The stainless steel chamber adapters i have seen come in 3 packs for $35, Im assuming you destroy them when you remove them. using the WMR casings is cheaper and they come out fairly easily, I just remove the ejector grab the shell with needle nose and pull them out. Since I have never owned a break open single shot .22 before I do not consider it to be any more complicated than normal. Ive put about 100 rounds through the first one I used, threw it out, shot 100 rounds of .22wmr and now im shooting with a new adapter again.

I will be looking for a 24c to be my end of the world gun. What versions and features should I look for or avoid? I also will be letting my wife use it at the range. Would the 22lr be the best choice ... more

For that situation, if you are using it for just foraging, then the LR over 410 or 20, with the 24" barrel will be better. The 24C, AKA the Camper, is handy to keep packed away somewhere, but the 4"... more

You & I are thinking alike on this. I have just refurbed mine [24c I believe .22LR over 20GA] and added a flashlight mount with a 9 led light, a 7 segment 150 foot 550 paracord sling & a sleeve with... more

good tips guys. I'd like to see your flashlight and sling mounted to your 24C. I never considered an airgun. I can stock up on 22LRs pretty cheaply be self reliant. Have you guys worked on your... more

What are you expecting at the end of the world? A singleshot-over-singleshot may not be the best weapon of choice unless you can reload really, really fast when the gangs come after your food supply. ... more

Haha. Rossow, I am expecting people to run out of food. You have 3 24Cs. wow. I currently have a Benelli M1 12ga and a .40 Sig pistol for defense. They might not be a good choice for hunting small... more

Its always a trade-off. A 24 inch standard model offers more range but is bigger and heavier. The camper model has less range (especially with the 20 gauge model), but is really, really handy (almost ... more

I was mentioning the 22mag because you could use a chamber adapter to shoot .22lr. i would not recommend a centerfire over a rimfire for this situation but I currently shoot 22lr out of my .22magnum... more

I have a .22 magnum over 20 gauge and you can buy adapters to shoot .22lr... just increases your effectiveness a little.

I have been reading up on 22wmr vs 22lr. People really like the extra punch of the magnums. The only negative is the extra cost. Are adapters kind of a hassle to use? The velocitors and stingers look ... more

There's another difference between .22 LR & .22 WMR: bore size. LR is .222" and mag is .223. Reports differ on the accuracy of shooting the smaller round in the larger bore. I myself have had a... more
