warnings about scopes the real reason

Howdy All, Let me say this the reason that warning is on there is to cover Savage's Backside in case you get hurt. Some one got hurt at least once and sued the legal beagles said"warn them and we are not liable if they get hurt". It is why lots of factory rounds are anemic so they won't blow one old weak action like .303 British #1 mark 3 made when they were just changing from black powder to modern smokeless powders therefore all factory .303 British are made not to exceed max pressure for the older actions. Same stuff as the warning on the savage receivers about scopes and 20 Ga.
This is my opinion but I believe close to the truth!

Having never seen one or used one, what about a "Red Dot" on a 24 ?
