I don't believe that new firing pins would be needed for conversion. I've eard of jack first of course, they've been around a long time, but I've never dealt with them. $90 sounds high to me.

Another thing, you may have something else going wrong, not just a selector problem. Failure to fire can be caused by a few different things. Have you checked out the FAQ #4 about bending the mainspring plunger head? See here: http://www.cylindersmith.com/savage24/misfire.html
I have encountered this problem more times than not, and this is a definate fix.

One step at a time brother, try these tweaks, then read and ask a bit more and try again. And stop throwing money at it like a democrat.
