The Dove and The Crow
Sun Dec 16, 2012 19:30

The Dove flies East, and the Crow does too
And so they meet, and so they woo
The land below, is blue and green
The sky above is in between
The Crow flies North, the Dove flies South,
And where they meet is where the earth gives out
To rise above, air like a stream
To follow the wind, is each bird’s dream
The Dove Flies East, the Crow flies West
And where they land, is where they rest
They trust their wings, but all too soon,
They follow the sun, they follow the moon

Drunken Roses

DRUNKEN ROSES
Drunken roses, drunken roses
That’s all you ever give me, drunken roses
What I’m wondering, and what I don’t know is
Why do I let you give me, drunken roses
You come home late, a little boozy
I smell the perfume, of some floozy
You try to fool me, think I won’t notice
You try to buy me off, by bringing drunken roses
With tears of joy, I used to water
Those lovely flowers, in our garden
Now it’s whiskey, and Vodka Sodas
And all that garden grows are, drunken roses
-----
Drunken roses, drunken roses
That’s all you ever give me, drunken roses
What I’m wondering, what I don’t know is
Why do I let you give me, drunken roses
All your friends and, all your cousins
You buy those bouquets, by the dozens
For your loved ones, who do not protest
You know that they deserve much more, than all these drunken roses
Next time your slipping, out the door
Don’t bother stopping, at the florist
There’ll be no flowers, and all I know is
When you come home, I’ll be the one to hand you drunken roses
