I read Carver's short story 'What We Mean When We Talk About Love," and I liked it.

I bought two novels the other day--Zone One by Colson Whitehead and The Peripheral by William Gibson. The Peripheral literally put me to sleep but I found Zone One to be pretty entertaining. It exists somewhere between the world of Mr. Sammler's Planet by Saul Bellow and Shaun of The Dead. The Peripheral reminded me of Finnegan's Wake in its attempt to fashion its own kind of language.
