We open on Bob's Winnebago. It’s filled with memorabilia from his various bands. Superimpose opening credits and deep cut music track over photos, postcards, and other ephemera. We pan to his calendar marked with X’s—-Aug 27th says “Not My 56th Birthday” —-The calendar indicates that this day is tomorrow. Bob puts on a flannel shirt, dons a baseball cap and heads to the front of the vehicle to check his messages. The answering machine shows 5 messages…Bob begins playing message 1 — Hi Bob, it’s your _______…” just want to let you know I’m excited to see you tomorrow…” —So glad you’re going to be able to make it…arranging something low-key will be nice after all the touring you’ve been doing. Okay, mister…see you tomorrow.” Bob grabs a cup of bright juice or sports drink from the fridge. He opens the front door to the vehicle. The camera is now outside the RV. Bob descends the stairs to reveal that the camper van is stranded in the middle of nowhere, California desert (maybe the Mojave). Its got two flat tires. Bob's nephew comes wandering out of the wilderness. The two stare each other down for a moment.
