Lt Col Boyd D. "Buzz" Wagner, the USAAF's first WWII ace, was assigned to Curtiss' Buffalo plant in Nov 42 to help factory engineers improve the P-40's combat performance. He died on 29 Nov 42 while piloting a factory-fresh P-40K from Eglin Fld, FL, to Maxwell Fld, AL. I'm interested in hearing from anyone, particularly Curtiss employees assigned to the Buffalo plant in the Sep 42 thru Jan 43 timeframe, who might have knowledge of Wagner, worked with him in any capacity, or know of his activities at the plant. I am writing Buzz Wagner's biography and would very much appreciate help filling in this particular void in my research. Please email me or post your contact information here if you can help me with this important, historic work. Thank you.
