Hi Paul: that stretch between Ben Eoin/Big Pond is/was known as St. Andrew's Channel. (in the past few years with boundary changes, the lands that are/were owned by descendants of pioneers Roderick and Angus Mcisaac now come under the district of Big Pond). And yes, you would have been visiting the birth place of your grandmother Margaret..she being a descendant of Roderick..he died in 1838. I'm confused about this grant, unless you purchased a piece of the 200 acre land grant that was once belonged to Mary. I, myself, am a descendant of Mary and Angus...my family still owns a portion of the origional lands and I have a cottage on the eastern portion of that grant which goes down to what was known as Open Pond. I'll email you at the g.mail address that you posted for Mr. Gillis, if that is OK....and we can go from there.
