My ancestry goes back to the Isle of Eigg -
Donald MacQuarrie married Catherine MacIsaac -as per Eigg census

Their son John MacQuarrie married Sara/Sally MacCormick also of Isle of Eigg with issue:

Neil, donald, Lauchlin, Jessie amd Flora

I am decended from Neil MacQuarrie - who was born on Ile of Eigg and shows up on the 1818 census (Mabou) as being age 30 with two children Allan and Jessie.
The only detail I have is that his wife's name was
Mary MacIsaac. Do not know where she is from or parents etc. I figure Neil was about 3 or so when he came over with his father. Also no infor as to where Neil's parents went first but they were not listed on the Hector and perhaps cld have been on the ship "dunkeld". Probably went to cape breton later like all the others. But on the Census (mabou) shows Sally MacQuarrie on 1818 Militia Roll. They were already on the 650 acres in Mabou (colindale).

I posted my line showing their son Allan who married
Euphemia MacDonald who with all his family up and left
their home in Colindale (650 acres) and went to Codroy Valley. When Allan died Jan 1899 buried St Andrews Cemetery, his Euphemia evenutally leaves and resided with her son Neil in St. Rose Inverness County. Ehphemia was born May 1818 and she died May 1915 in St Rose out living her late husband. Found her on the Nova Scotia census 1911 census when she was still living.

But back to the MacIsaacs - I have combed the Mabou Pioneers Volu I and History of Inverness County and without further information on my Mary MacIsaac, I cld be looking at her family and not know. Nothing said about her heritage only a name - of which there are very many Marys. Also the book Drummer on Foot did not reveal any clues for me.

Until I can get further on her - I have no idea what to look for. Can you help me - tell me where to search?
