I think the reason for covering mirrors and other reflective surfaces was so that the newly dead's Spirit wouldn't see themselves, and be tempted to stick around..... Or, maybe Ghosts show up in mirrors (unlike Vampires) and might scare the living to death! I'll have to find the answer for us.

I finished reading the book, and am taking it to my Sister to read. She hangs out with a bunch of "Old Ladies" (most over 80) who still get together to do quilting once a week. Sister doesn't quilt, but helps the "Quilting Ladies" with heavy work (and sometimes driving help) in exchange for stories of local History. I'll get her to ask those Ladies about the covering of reflective surfaces to see if my notion is correct. I'll let you know what I learn.

Meanwhile, I'm still working my way through those LONG books in the Terry Goodkind "Sword of Truth" series. Fascinating adventures, but sure hard on my arthritic hands to try to hold those fat paperback books! ;-)
