Communiqué and Final Report: Systematic Review of Indigenous
Thu Oct 13, 2016 2:04pm

The Centre for Indigenous Environmental Resources (CIER) and First Nations Fisheries Council of British Columbia (FNFC) partnered in 2015-2016 to undertake a systematic review of indigenous water/watershed initiatives and co-governance arrangements to identify capacity gaps and contribute to shaping the future of water/watershed planning and a new watershed governance regime in BC.

The key findings highlight and characterize the widespread capacity needs (financial, human, technical) of First Nations to meaningfully engage in water/watershed governance, planning and management, which are summarized in the project communiqué (attached) and described more at length in the final report (attached).
