Volunteer ops: planting workparties
Tue Oct 18, 2016 5:49pm

We will join the Friends of Tod Creek Watershed and the Greater Victoria Green Team (GVGT) at a planting workparty on the Flats on Monday Oct. 24th from 12-3:15pm. See the GVGT event notice here for more details. Students from Royal Oak Middle School and Island Montessori will be joining us to plant. Please RSVP PeninsulaStream(at)gmail.com through the Meetup website or by emailing Francesca at PeninsulaStreams@gmail.com.

With the Friends of Tod Creek Watershed, we will hold two additional workparties to plant the riparian zone on Tod Creek Flats. We will be transplanting ground cover, wetland plants, and rushes harvested from the wetlands, installing trees and shrubs and cutting willow for stakes.

Dates: Tues. Oct. 25th and Sat. 29th
Time: 11am to 1pm

Please Register if you can attend (and specify the date) so that we can inform you of any last minute changes.

Please wear sturdy waterproof footwear and clothes that you won’t mind getting dirty! Also bring water and a snack for yourself.

Directions: Park at the mail boxes at corner of West Saanich Road & Wallace Drive. Walk down Interurban Trail to the Red Barn Market, go behind the Market building and you’ll find a path through the bushes onto the Flats.
