The Oath of Peace is not actually total pacifism. It is an Oath to do no more harm than is absolutely necessary. Whether that be cutting down trees, killing animals, or fighting a war. It reads as follows:
Do not hurt where holding is enough. Do not wound where hurting is enough. Do not maim where wounding is enough. Do not kill where maiming is enough. The greatest warrior is he who does not need to kill.
That said, Mhoram is a very good role-model and a total badass. I highly recommend reading that series (though I would warn everyone that there is a small portion dealing with sexual violence in the first book. Nothing explicit, but still...).
