For the most part, from what I've seen, oldbies (of the more than a few years variety) tend to not make 'I'm back!' posts unless they've been gone for more than a couple years or have otherwise made clear they were leaving for Reasons which would mean Forever or some such or are coming back due to Reasons, while a few of the newer bunch seem to take disappearing every few weeks (in the measurable in <8 weeks frame) as requiring them to reintroduce themselves again.

School happens, life happens, work happens. Regardless, if you intend to post to the Board again, or pop into the chatroom, or help other PPCers and so on in the future, you're still a PPCer, and will always be, so there's really no need for saying you're returning- as far as quite a few of us are concerned, I would say, you've never truly been gone, in that sense.

Besides, if everyone who disappeared for a few weeks (or months) made a return post, then the board would've been swamped with Elcalion, Kippur, Huinesoron, Araeph, and Gandalf the Beige's comings and goings, beyond others.
