You got me curious and the more I thought about it the name Weems rang bells so I know I ran into it when I lived in Alamogordo. I was the curator at the Tularosa Basin Historical Society for four years and I betcha I ran into the name when I was looking through files. I also have a faint memory of current Weems descendants still around Alamogordo.

Anyway, in case you haven't seen it I found a listing in the University of Texas at El Paso (UTEP) Library for an interview from 1960 with a Kerby Weems. The link to the library record is
