Not a guy to be messed with then. I didn't know Wyatt had been in town before the Alaska venture. I'm curious if you know if Wyatt might have ever visited Yakima? It would be logical since it was the largest community between Spokane and Seattle, and situated about halfway between. It's where I grew up as a kid (no, I don't miss it), but given that Wyatt had ties to Idaho and family in Walla Walla, and it was a bustling town at the time, & in contention for being the state Capitol, I've always wondered if Wyatt ever spent any time there or at least could be proven he passed through. Might be too obscure a moment to nail anything of significance down, but if you know anything I'd be thrilled to learn of it.

As for the rendezvous in Seattle with James, was this just a short visit then? Where was Virgil, was this during his time in Vanderbilt? An interesting note, and one you may already be aware of, is that Doc Manning, the man who killed Marshal Stoudenmire, moved to Seattle sometime around this time, too. And I've heard of a few other somewhat significant characters venturing to the Northwest around the end of the century. Can you speak to the draw of the area at the time, and was it a little more attractive to western fellas than is commonly known? Or are these just common coincidences that come with the ebbs and flows of life?
