"Texas, by God"
and the
Black man lynched at Waxahachie 1900

Martha, according to family history my gr. granddaddy attended the lynching and took along my granddaddy at age 12. Later that year they moved from Waxahachie over to Clyde, Texas, near you. Gr.-granddaddy spent his last 42 years living at Clyde.
Interesting that Clifford Caldwell (mentioned in email) co-authored a book: "Eternity at the End of a Rope: Executions, Lynchings and Vigilante Justice in Texas."
Nevertheless, I cannot find anything about this Waxahachie hanging.

I clicked on the "ancestor" one to see what it was linked to, and it wasn't good! Next time I'll copy and paste to a word pad first, to get rid of any links! My apology!
