I believe we moved there

in about 1972. We were surrounded by stars. We actually had 2 homes there, the first one (Angela Cartwright lived right behind us there) was temporary while we built the second (much larger) one. Bob Hope lived 1 block away from that one and owned a whole block of that valuable real estate near all the studios. He had a 3 hole golf course on his property. While in high school a dated a doctors daughter for awhile and their yard backed up to Bob's highly fenced/barricaded yard. We would sometimes look through the fence to see what was going on at Bob's house.

As Bob Paul mentioned above, there is also a Lake and Golf Club (one of the most exclusive in the world) in the small Village. Living directly on the lake (where "the Love Bug" and so many other movies were filmed) cost a small (actually large) fortune. They were always filming episodes of Adam 12 in our neighborhood. Hardly a day went by when there wasn't a camera crew (and streets blocked off) in town.

PS - no huge basement, but we did have a tennis court, full basketball court, and huge pool.
