Ben - the only dumb question is the one not asked.

I've said all along that there were more than one Curly Bill characters. Lynn Bailey knows this too.

In fact the real Curly Bill said the same thing - that he was being blamed for every crime committed in the Territories - which is why he left Arizona in December 1881 - before Earp claimed he killed him.

Also - some people were mistaken for Curly Bill - remember, fingerprint evidence didn't exist and wanted posters didn't have photos back then. Also - these territories were sparsely populated. Word of mouth and eye witness accounts are now known to be terribly unreliable.

Look at all the prisoners being released due to DNA evidence now - and yet they were convicted by "reliable witnesses".
