"after the 1881 Blue Cut train robbery, ten "gang members" were initially arrested, then eventually released"

Kenny ... the authorities made an even bigger deal out of proving the ten suspects [and two later ones] innocent than they had of proving their guilt ... all the evidence seemingly disappeared ... protecting Liddill was deemed more important ... the "capture" of extra "gang members" would seem a good diversionary tactic, but reading Liddil & Hite's confessions none of the real robbers had the wit to even come up with such an idea ... I was unsure about Blount's age and checking on Peter Brand it didn't appear definitive ... by the way there's a book by [the late] John Koblas which I don't have and now could ill afford from UK sources ... but available to you here at reasonable price ... will keep looking for Blount & Lobb ... keep on cussin'
