Ahh, our generator is 6500 Honda. It's LOUD. Gas powered

it powers up about half of the house in a power outage. The major systems: heat, well water pump, laundry room, overhead fans, entire kitchen, only one full bath (others are dark, lit with battery operated candles), garage & doors, and several plugs scattered throughout the house to keep things going. It's comfortable enough, but it IS loud, especially given that everyone else is running the same thing so it's a racket. Thankfully, several rooms are sound proofed here so it's muffled in the master suite and main living area.

We used to vacation at a cabin like you're talking about. Very 19th century with a few nods to 20th in having a generator to pump water up and to be able to watch a little TV or listen to radio. Otherwise, quite rustic, including gas stove that has wood fired oven. (?? but that's how it was) We loved going there years ago when the girls were still little. Haven't been in ages. Don't even know if it's still there as we lost touch with the friends who'd owned it when they moved overseas. He was an astrophysicist and got an opportunity to work with some of the world's foremost people overseas in northern Europe.

It sounds like your home is "heaven" to you. Can't ask for more than that.

But this little generator is so quiet. And no need for a behemoth. I have two 1000s, one 2,000, and a Homelite 2500 (noisy). But I only use the 1000. It is way more than enough to operate my lights,... more
