If the prescription says 6 months at 1 pill per day, the pharmacy can (subject to whatever legal restrictions might be in place) fill one month, two months, or the entire prescription. If CVS is instituting a policy of only filling 7 days worth of opioid prescriptions, I am guessing that they are probably just requiring doctors to sign off on each weekly refill.
