The ideal and idea behind the establishment clause is certainly not obsolete. The language of the establishment clause is, however, archaic.

Better to hold the ideals/ideas sacred, not the symbols.

My "new age insight" is patently NOT to obsolete what they originally meant. It is the exact opposite, and even a less than careful reading of my posts would indicate such. I'll be less subtle for you.

Just because someone waves a flag and tells me that everything they say and do is patriotic and right doesn't make it so. Just because the anthem is played doesn't mean all is well.
