Trump. But used his imperial edict as a example . The ban on travel to Cuba was unconstitutional. And a lot less complicated to grasp than the dodgey hair splitting parsing of terms re. the Second Amendment. I suggest the model upon which the Second Amendment is seeming mirroring is the Swiss model. But there is something more basic. Because guns are plentiful and in the hands of criminal gangs and political groups, both bring mutually inclusive, it only makes sense for law abiding citizens to have equal protection by having the same for personal protection. And personal protection at the local level Why have a "castle" if one cannot defend it? And without defense there will be no personal castle to defend. Further to this concept is the collective at the local level. In time of a need, such as a breakdown of law and order (of which we are observing), this aggregate of armed citizenry is a militia at the local level. The local police cannot be everything everywhere in a crisis. I believe gun ownership up to and including the AR-15 is prudent for personal ownership.

If we look at total war scenario's there are plenty of jobs that won't need front line troops, but would be better done by someone with a rifle who knows how to do it.
