I passed on a good piece of advice to students.

"If you want a career in music, and anything can stop you, let it."

The industry changed so fast, and is changing so fast, it's more difficult and unstable than ever. What's in is out in less than a heartbeat, and how trends are determined... that's another story. Inside the business isn't pretty, and it seems the deeper you go, the uglier it gets. It fits right in there with the discussion on sexual harassment and abuse. Music leads and reflects culture, and what we have in America today isn't very pretty. Not just America. It's worldwide.

I never cared much for Spears. There are charming, cordial and gracious people to work with, and there are prima donnas.

      he ought to not be in a studio, much less on stage for a live-in performance. There are millions of pretty good singers. Big deal. What does Bob have? Good looks? A big crotch package? Huge tits?... more
