Simply because the portion on impeachment explicitly mentions that impeachment does not abridge the ability to indict a president afterward does not mean that the existence of impeachment precludes the ability to indict a sitting president.

If the question is, "May I have a glass of wine as we wait for other guests to arrive?" and you point to the invitation that reads, "After dinner, wine will be served," that doesn't really answer the question. The line on the invitation was not written to answer the question I asked, nor was it written to prohibit a glass of wine at any other time. If that was the intent, it would have been much more direct to write it as such.

You are hereby invited to attend a dinner party. Please refrain from drinking wine before or during dinner as there will be a wine tasting event after dinner followed by dessert.
