Monarch is one of my favorite areas. It used to be a "biggie" on par with Breckenridge and Winter Park, before the great expansion, followed by hundred dollar lift tickets. My favorite bump run is at Monarch, called Christmas Tree. From the lower lift, you immediately stop, turn right and side step up behind the lift shack, and traverse over across another run that cuts down under the lift, to Christmas Tree, which is even steeper, with tight moguls.

Mt. Princeton Hot Springs are cool.

On Princeton's other side is Cottonwood Hot Springs, smaller and more rustic. Old Colorado.

There are four white bison in the South Park herd this winter.

Dottir's boyfriend is full blooded Hopi, Native American, and when he saw this, his response was, "Holy $h!t!" For them, a white buffalo is like the star of Bethlehem. Signifies a divine birth.

Yes, our country is quite sick.

Hope you are well... even if our country is not. We sKiied Monarch recently and stayed at Mt Princeton. Love those hot springs! Practically had the whole mountain to ourselves and some fresh powder... more
