athletes and what their diets consist of. Ignorance ABOUNDS …

Here's what they said about what he did for the Clemson Tigers national championship:

The Clemson Tigers celebrated their national championship at the White House on Monday and were served a meal that consisted of cold fast food on silver platters.

President Donald Trump blamed the government shutdown for the non-traditional meal, but he also seemed to believe that football players get to be large people based on a fast-food heavy diet. Yet, in reality, Clemson football has dedicated nutritionists, culinary coaches and an executive performance chef to ensure healthy and goal-oriented eating.

One nutritionist went as far as to say that Trump’s food choice perpetuated a stereotype that college kids only eat fast food and, in doing so, he set a bad example.

Via Yahoo! Lifestyle:
“Food for athletes should be looked at as fuel, an aid for recovery and also a means of enjoyment and team bonding,” Alissa Rumsey, registered dietitian and owner of Alissa Rumsey Nutrition and Wellness, tells Yahoo Lifestyle.

“This sets a bad example,” New York City-based registered dietitian Jessica Cording says. “It’s perpetuating this idea that college students are supposed to be eating junk food. It’s a missed opportunity to show that healthy food can be accessible, enjoyable, and fuel young athletes.”

While the Clemson players seemed to enjoy the meal (not as much as a fake Trevor Lawrence quote suggested), one player was overheard saying that the team nutritionist was going to have a fit.

Others thought the Trump wasn’t being serious about the fast food and were shocked to realize he was.

Listen to the video there where a Clemson player says : "I thought it was a joke," says Clemson athlete upon learning the White House was serving him Wendy's.

But hey, if the Clemson Tigers want a championship-caliber meal with actual nutritional value, a few celebrities are more than willing to do what the White House did not.
