T&T U-21 vs USA U-17 - 22-Feb-2006
Sun Feb 26, 2006 07:16

T&T tie USA U17's.

The US national under 17 team held T&T under 21 team to a 1-1 tie on Wednesday 22nd of February down in Tampa Florida. According to reports from players, the US national under 17 team was outplayed but they were more physically fit. Trinidad and Tobago national under 21 team kept most of the possession during the game. At times they were very unlucky, hitting the frame work on 3 or 4 occasions. This brought to players’ attention that finishing was a department in which they needed to work on.
Shane Calderon scored the lone goal for Trinidad in the 70th minute. He collected a pass from flanker Ancil Farrier from the left side and buried the opportunity. Shane had an outstanding game and work extremely hard all game. However, Trinidad celebration was short lived as the US national under 17 team got the game tying goal through Sheanon Williams with about 5 minutes left in the game. Sheanon Williams who mother happys to be from Trinidad and Tobago. The goal was caused by Yohance Marshall. Marshall actually did not have a good game and that bad pass happen to be one of many.
Trinidad and Tobago under 21 team was not at full strength. Abiola Sandy, Randy Patterson and Makan Hislop all had to leave early to report back for school duties. In addition, the national under 21 team had a lot of injuries.
It is also reported that Gorian Highley was out matched by his US counterparts. One noticeable mention was the efforts of Kareem DeFrietas who came on as a sub and played right flank and did exceptionally well. The under 21 team finished the camp with a record of 1 win, 1 draw and 2 loses.

Who is Hot and who is not!

- Abiola Sandy had a good camp. He scored 1 goal but he was always consistent.
- Ancil Farrier had 1 assist to the game against the US under 17 team and started all 4 games. Like Abiola, he was also very consistent.
- Kevon Neaves was solid but missed two games due the staff decision to rest him. He scored 2 goals in the 2 games in played in.
- Randy Patterson was considered the most deadly striker for the national under 21 team. He had 2 goals against the orange county outfit but what made him stand out was his work rate, fearless tackles on defenders and his technical ability. This happens to be one of our US products.

- Carlon Murray was considered a weak link in the team. He has been with the national team probably the longest and is still unable to understand his role on the field. He constantly makes bad passes and is always out of position. Furthermore, he is one of the captains of the team. I was told that this is Ron La Forest Legit God son but he always says that Gorian is his god son even though it is not legit.
Gorian Highley played in all the games expect the game against Kansas City Wizards but did not start all the games. He is not the Gorian of the pass. He was very lazy throughout the camp and his teammates were disappointed that it was not the Gorian of the pass.

Statistical Summary:

17 shots, 3 saves, 6 fouls, 18 corner kicks, 0 offside.

8 shots, 3 saves, 7 fouls, 13 corner kicks, 4 offside.
