I have told this story before but when someone mentions the Gen getting killed, it always comes back to me. Got home in March 1970, went to Bragg and in April was informed by the Red Cross that my best friend was KIA with the 101st. Went to Dover Del, to pick up his body and when I got to the morgue, the 1st thing I saw was a 199th Patch and it was on the General's Dress Uniform. Never will forget that as long as I live.
