Weight and Hip Replacements
Thu Feb 3, 2011 2:17pm

There are a wide variety of hip replacements. The average hip replacement weighs about 2 pounds. The material that is removed from the body to accomodate the hip replacement weighs approximately one pound. So, one hip replacement would add approximately 1 pound of weight to a patient's weight.

Doctor said I needed to lose a few pounds, but that my hip replacements might be the cause. Is 2 replacements cause for any weight gain?
