These seats are on their way out, you may find as you remove the rush you can break the individual strands with a small tug. unless George Washington sat in it and its going into a museum where no one will sit on it ever again trying to fix a few strands is a waste of time, material and money. you can bet in 6 months that another half a dozen strands will have broken. I make it easier on my customers- they buy all the material up front and I weave one chair at a time, they pay for each chair as it is done. If they can only afford to restore 2 chairs a month I do 2 of their chairs in a month. Remember rush changes color- every batch is different so get enough for all 6 chairs and don't mix in old rush or you'll have color issues.

Dick... My personal feeling is to replace the seats. It is a waste of time and resources to try to spot repair. The fact is the edges of the seat frame are sharp and after yrs of use the material is... more
