Using B)oiled Linseed Oil

Cathryn,commercially prepared "boiled" linseed oil is raw linseed oil to which a lead based drying agent has been added. So it will give one lead poisoning to some extent, no matter how, or how little, it is used. Raw linseed oil does not come in tubes. Artists's oil based pigments usually do. Linseed oil based pigment, that is. Raw linseed oil comes in a plastic bottle or metal can. Here's is where my knowledge ends: refined raw linseed oil may or may not already have been cured (which is what I gave the instruction to do with the plain raw linseed oil).
