Your problem is in the placement of the diagonals (better said, where you start your diagonals.). So, for example, as you face the frame, the verticals going to the left should actually go under the nearest vertical pair first before going over the nearest horizontal pair. The ends should line up as perfect X’s. Yours are off-kilter. The opposite is true of your sides which are in a V shape rather than X. The side diagonals should go under a horizontal first, then a vertical. One of the nice things about caning is that is self-correcting. If you have to force something, it is probably wrong and you need to do it another way.

You also need to look up doing fish-eyes in each corner - best described as double terminations. There are a lot of sites that describe how to do that.
