figured it out
Sun Apr 16, 2017 7:43am

We are the people who owned North Bay Canoe and Kayak Company for many years and we specialized in building and restoring cedar canvas canoes. If you want any advice in your restoration project we would be happy to help. The decal on your deck has us stumped as to the make of your canoe. The Chestnut and Peterborough canoe companies built so many canoes that the caning operation was too slow so they figured out a much faster way to cane canoe seats. We call it the canoe seat weave. You do the vertical, horizontal, vertical, horizontal then step 5 & 6 are the diagonals and the only weavers. Just let us know if you want any info on your restoration project.
