Spline Removal

Question for the group. I have been using a steamer and chisels to remove spline and clean the groove. In cases where the spline was glued with wood glue instead of white glue, I use a dremel to clean the groove. Is there any other power tools that work better than a dremel?

Drexel is my go to tool for this. First I try more steam and a paper towel on the end of a chisel to mop up water and glue. Jill

Jill, As a clean-up tool (after steaming), which bit do you use with the Dremel, I have tried the rasp one, but it gets clogged up within seconds of using it! Brigitte

That would be Dremel not Drexel. Ha!
