Drexel is my go to tool for this.
First I try more steam and a paper towel on the end of a chisel to mop up water and glue.

        Jill, As a clean-up tool (after steaming), which bit do you use with the Dremel, I have tried the rasp one, but it gets clogged up within seconds of using it! Brigitte
