Hi Jan...

Here are a couple of links to my frame holder. I realize this does not help you but it can give you some ideas. I do a weaving on this lazy susan with the center part being interchangeable with an eye hook and board to hold down whole chairs. I even have a lift that raises the chairs on the l s and a wedge that tilts cane seats towards me. I work sitting on the couch and the l s with all it's adaptations save my back and legs.

Everyday I think of a new mechanism to add to the l s to make it even more efficient :-)

                You are so right much easier to adjust and unhook rehook, & I put some electric tape over the end that goes onto the table so they don't scratch up the work surface or screech as I spin the chair... more

                  I pushed rubber cane tips onto the end of my clamps to prevent scratching and sliding.
