I hit "post reply" and it posted a whole new message. LOL. I'm just not computer literate!!

That is what I thought as well, but I wasn't sure. Thanks :-)
I believe that most chocolates carry the gene for green eye color, so if I had a green-eyed chocolate dam to breed my male red with the liver pigmentation I might have a good chance that he is heterozygous for green eye-color (that is if eye color is a straight forward gene in dogs. Not sure, but it is a very complicated gene for people..)
Anyway green-eyed chocolates are hard to come by! :-)
Thanks!

I do see a difference in the faces and stature of your spoodles (we call them cockapoos here, but frankly I MUCH prefer the name spoodle!) It is interesting the subtle difference in the face and head ... more

We had a few ear infections when they were younger, but all good for years now. I do use a ear solution if we have been to the beach, it helps dry out any excess water and keeps infections at bay.... more

a buff/red dog with liver pigment (nose, eye rims, lips), would carry chocolate. I would guess that the same is true for Spoodles. As for eye color, I have no clue. ;)

Are you in Australia? I have not seen any blue Merles in OZ. sorry can't help with the genetic side of things. Do you have any photos of your puppies? Are you only breeding f2's?

Currently I'm only breeding F2s. Hopefully one day I will have further lines! I am a very small breeder and do not believe in having lots of breeding stock/dogs out in kennels so the animals I have... more
