According to Brown and Stratton's British Musical Biography (1897)he was of Scottish extraction. Born London 1797, studied with S.S.Wesley etc, organist Denmark Hill Chapel, Rotherhide, Boston (Lincs) and St Margaretís Kings Lynn from 1826 till his death on Feb. 20 1860.
