According to Brown and Stratton's British Musical Biography (1897)he was of Scottish extraction. Born London 1797, studied with S.S.Wesley etc, organist Denmark Hill Chapel, Rotherhide, Boston (Lincs) and St Margaret’s Kings Lynn from 1826 till his death on Feb. 20 1860. Some secular works in British Library.

    Has anybody come across Josiah Ferdinand Reddie of Kings Lynn? I've recently bought a printed edition of his hymn tunes, but can't find out anything about it. I can't find it in the BL.
