Yes, I did tentatively identify the fiddle melody from an 18th century collection at the SCA in Edinburgh. Annoyingly I don't have a note of it here, but will dig it out. If any of your fiddlers know the tune it would be interesting to compare notes.
Re the Dufftown organ; I found a 19th century source saying that there was indeed a smaller organ there originally, but I have no idea where it went. There was an organ-building priest in the N E, Rev George Mathison; the original might have been one of his. The present organ is in poor repair sadly.

                  Thanks for looking. I did try the Elphinstone people without success. The SCA have a large collection of fiddle tunes and I intend to try these; will report back. Maybe GG wrote it himself?
