I rather liked both Alice and Charlie but do wonder if composer and director are missing some of the danger and the rough edges that come with it now they command the resources of big studios. For Elfman the problem can be rectified by sneaking in smaller projects, but I put Burton's last unselfconscious effort as Stainboy.

Anyone think a Pirates of the Carribean movie directed by Burton would notch up the quality?

  • The concept will be perceived differently by everyone, maybe you should define it first?
